Music Factory Direct is proud to introduce the all NEW line of our own BadAax guitars! The LP1GT is similar in so many ways to its famous cousin but we had a maple neck put on it to brighten the tone just a bit. Donat be fooled by the other makes of guitars out there, the LP1GT is made of only the most select quality of wood and hardware. So many of the other guyas make theirs from cheaper, lighter, less dense wood like Basswood or Poplar and they just do not have that big, meaty tone that a LP style guitar should have. The LP1GT has a solid mahogany body with a lightly flamed maple top, a rock hard maple neck with a aroundeda neck profile, rosewood fingerboard, acrylic trapezoid inlay and a Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece. Other features include 2 humbucker pickups, die-cast metal tuners, 22 frets, 24 A 3/4a scale, 1 5/8a nut, 2 volume, 2 tone controls, 3 way selector switch and ivory binding on the body and the neck. Also comes with a hardshell aAlligatora style, plush lined case. So many high end features at such a reasonable price, but like our motto saysa Why Pay More??? You certainly donat need to!

I bought one of these some time ago, and after playing it for a while, here is what I have found:

- The case is nice, very plush, with a nice alligator print in the Tolex cover. Well built.
- The electronics are iffy. One volume pot was not secured properly and both volume pots were scratchy.
- Pickups were fine, though a touch microphonic. These are basic ceramics and really don't sound bad at all.
- Pickup switch worked as it should.
- Wiring neat and clean.
- Neck is a bolt on neck and was well secured.
- Neck profile is very chunky. If you like a baseball bat feel, this is your neck.
- Neck width is very narrow. This could be problematic if you have large hands.
- Fingerboard was fine after initial oiling and had no visible flaws. Inlay well done.
- Nut was properly cut and installed, but I would replace it with a bone or Tusq nut.
- Tuners are cheap and need replaced. Typical 14:1 ratio found on most imports.
- Bridge is typical "pot metal" found on most imports but does not really need replacing.
- Body is surprisingly nice; flametop is well done and body is carved, not flat.
- Sunburst finish is very well done and looks good with little to no overspray.

Bottom line: For $150, you could certainly do a lot worse. This is a good guitar for the beginner to
intermediate player. Good Christmas gift for the budding player and case is included.
