Best snare side head for me so far Dec 28, 2009
By Hairy Alaskan Most of my playing years have been spent using Remo heads. I had to switch over to some Evans snare heads a few years back and noticed a vast improvement in sound, ease of tuning and durability. The Hazy 300 should be no different than the Remo Snare Side Ambassador since they are essentially the same head but I find the 300 produces a fuller slightly darker sound. To me this head seems a little less finicky than the Ambassador with regard to tuning and seems to have added a wider tuning range to a few of my snare drums. All of my snares now use this head and I have been very pleased with the results.
