Description:

Quik-N-EZ Adaptor. Simply push the lever up or down to quickly mount the Quik-N-EZ Adaptor to the mic stand. It can be left attached to the mic clip for speedy setups. The Quik-N-EZ tilts easily and slides smoothly to reach where you need it. The Quik-N-EZ Retainer allows for instant attachment of the boom to the stand. Just flip the lever up to attach and down to remove. Quik-N-EZ Height Adjustment Grip adjusts the stand up or down to the desired height with smooth one-handed operation. A secure internal locking mechanism prevents slipping. The tripod base has a die cast aluminum housing and legs that fold out to form a wide, stable base.

Ok, This is the way as mic stand should be made. Not too heavy, but sturdy. Easy to adjust, easy to take apart, and reasonably compact when folded. It is worth the extra $ in my opinion, especially if you are going to be setting up and taking it down regularly. The only slight ding I would have, is that the bracket for the boom is not quite as sturdy as I would like to see due to the way the boom angle clutch operates (it basically squeezes the two ears together). It should be OK, but we will see. The boom in/out adjustment is very good, and easy to operate.

This was my 2nd hercules product (my other stand is great).I wanted to use this for gigging, but it continually fails. The quick release is great, so it would actually be a great straight stand. I have tightened as much as possible, and nearly every time I go into the studio, the micropone is dropped 6-8 inches?? The funny thing is, there's a 19.99 generic chrome and black boom next to it that is about 20 years old, never sagged?? I found the Samson telescoping boom, and it is perfect for almost half the cost of this one.
