Randall took the high gain tone circuit of their flagship V2 and T2 amplifiers and installed it in each of their G3 Plus models. I own one of theses amps,I can tell you it has more gain than any other amp I've owned,except for a Marshall Plexi I had for awhile several years ago.The Randall amp does have more clarity,even with alot of distortion.
It's built like a tank.The corners are solid,& feels very sturdy.The footswitch has 4 switches.1 for channels,overdrive & clean boost,1 for reverb& effects.Also,the footswitch is metal,not plastic.
As for tone,you can get anything from sparkling clean to all out metal.Whatever tone you want,you can find it here.All in all,this amp is the "holy grail",the tone I've always wanted.I now know where Dime not only got his tone,but no doubt inspiration.Once you start playing ,you won't want to stop.If you've had your fill of modelling amps,& ready to create some tone of your own,grab one of these amps,get a few stomp boxes,& don't stop rockin!!!!
